Wool: 100g Estelle Cloud Cotton (Knit and Stitch Store in Dundarave, West Vancouver)

Needles: #4 or #5

Cast on 36 stitches purl 1 row. Follow pattern below.

Rows 1, 3, 5 – Knit 2 together, knit to end of row, and knit twice in last stitch.

Rows 2, 4, 6 – Purl

Rows 7, 9, 11 – Purl 2 together, purl to end of row, and knit twice in last stitch.

Rows 8, 10, 12 – Knit

Repeat these 12 rows 9 times. You now have 7 knitted and 7 row purl stripes. Cast off. Sew back seam together (1 to 1, 2 to 2,3 to 3, etc.) forming a tube. Stitch up back seam.

For brim, pick up 74-80 stitches on one side of tube on a round needle and knit 2, purl 2 for 10 cm. Cast off. Run thread through the top side and pull tight. Make a pompom and stitch to the top.
