VGE – Take Time to Stitch

Enjoy a day of embroidery workshops
hosted by the Vancouver Guild of Embroiderers, open to all.

A variety of embroidery techniques taught in workshops including Deerfield, Whitework, Crewel, Goldwork, Beading, and more. Choose an all day or two half-day workshops. Fee includes workshops, coffee/tea, snacks, and lunch. Additional kit fees noted in workshop descriptions.

  • Full day of workshops (1 all day or 2 half days) and lunch = $120
  • Half day (Session A or B) and lunch = $80.00 – Click to Register
  • Plus Kit fees as noted in each workshop.

Once registered, you will receive an invoice with instructions for payment and after payment, you will receive confirmation. No registrations at the door.
Lunch will be a selection of sandwiches. *If you have allergies of concern, please bring your own lunch. Bring a lidded cup for coffee/tea.

The Canadian Memorial Centre for Peace
Limited parking is available next to the Centre or nearby on street.

Pull Together- Pull Through

Art in the Community presents “Pull Together – Pull Through”, an exhibition in four parts that will be on display in the District Hall Glass cabinets. The exhibits will be changed quarterly as follows:

  1. Scrolls: October 20, 2022 – January 17, 2023
  2. Pojagi: January 19, 2023 – April 18, 2023   
  3. Boro: April 20, 2023 – July 18, 2023
  4. Colour: July 20, 2023 – October 17, 2023

Virtual Opening: Wednesday April 6 from 7 – 8 PM

April 6 at 7 PM <Link>.
This is an opportunity to meet some of the artists and hear their story:
There will be in person demonstrations on weekends and the schedule of those is currently being worked on and they will all relate to what you will see in the exhibit.

In person viewing: Wednesdays through Sundays Noon – 4 PM
There will be live demos at the gallery on weekends.

The Textile Arts Guild of Richmond (www.tagor.ca) is hosting a zoom and in-person presentation by Deborah Zibrik on April 26 at 2 pm.To quote from The Textile Arts Guild of Richmond (www.tagor.ca)

“Vancouver fibre artist Deborah Zibrik enjoys creating beautiful scenes with embroidery. This presentation will examine creativity showing examples of developing inspiration to create art to allow others to see what the maker sees.”
